Regional Mechanism for Monitoring Labor Market 2016 - 2021
The Act concerns the establishment of a permanent mechanism for the diagnosis and monitoring of the state of play and trends in the labor market as well as the needs of the labor market for skills and occupations at the level of the Region of Crete for the period 2016-2021.
Diagnosis and monitoring needs will be done on two levels:
• Human resources
• Businesses
The results will lead to a research-based proposal for the development of an integrated program of targeted human resource reskilling, based on the skill profile, skills and needs of each category (skills supply) and business needs (skills demand).
In summary, the Act has the following basic objectives:
• Identify the needs of the local labor market in skills, skills and job skills (skills demand).
• Identify needs and structure the skills profile of the workforce and in particular of the unemployed by sub-group, taking into account parameters such as gender, level of education and previous professional experience (skills).
• Attempt to match skills demand and skills supply, to identify skills mismatch parameters and to build research-based clusters of associated skill needs.
• Develop a comprehensive program of targeted training on the basis of the capabilities and needs of individual taxpayers and on the other hand the real needs of the labor market. In addition to monitoring trends and transformations in the labor market and diagnosing skills needs, particular attention is paid to the qualitative analysis and study of attitudes, perceptions, motivations, behaviors, expectations, and employment-related objectives in general, both at the level of human resources and at the level of enterprises, given the significant changes that take place in the economic environment as a result of the economic crisis.
