The aim of the Paleography Workshop is to create a significant database for the greek manuscripts of middle Age and and post-byzantine era and its scientific use, with ultimate goal the study of the history of the texts of Ancient Greek and Byzantine Literature. This database relies on a collection of more than 500 digitized copies of Byzantine and post- byzantine greek manuscsripts, whose originals are found in various libraries all over the world. The Workshop also provides descriptive catalogues, specialized studies on Byzantine manuscripts and a basic library with research tools. The Workshop addresses to scholars, editors and historians of the University of Crete, and of other research Foundations of Greece and abroad as well.
