The University of Crete, through its data and metadata repository at the Department of Sociology (Scientific responsible: Associate Professor, Dr. Giorgos Tsiolis) participates in the Social Data Network (So.Da.Net), which constitutes the Greek Research Infrastructure for the Social Sciences (http://sodanet.gr/). Apart from University of Crete, the Social Data Network is joined by six other agencies (National Center for Social Research, Universities of the Aegean, Peloponnese, Democritus of Thrace, Panteion, National Kapodistrian of Athens). So.Da.Net has been incorporated along with the European Social Survey (ESS) into the ‘National Road Map of Research Infrastructures 2014-2020’ under the title CESSRI.
Greece - with the So.Da.Net research infrastructure - became a member of CESSDA (Consortium of European Social Data Archives) in June 2015.
“SoDaNet in Action” program aims to develop, upgrade and rebuild the data and metadata of existing repositories on the network.
