Resilience Curriculum in Early Years and Elementary Schools in Europe (RESCUR)
This project aimed to develop an innovative preventive resilience curriculum, which was entitled “RESCUR: Surfing the Waves (Greek version “An Obstacle, An Opportunity!”. The programme includes five manuals for teachers and parents, and was designed for four to twelve year old children.
The aim of the RESCUR project is to promote resilience in early and primary education by helping children build essential skills and knowledge to cope with life challenges and achieve academic success and, most importantly, resilience. Furthermore, the curriculum seeks to address the needs of all children, especially those at risk, such as children experiencing a challenge or disability, children from refugee or immigrant families, and Roma.
The “RESCUR: An Obstacle, an Opportunity!” programme includes:
Teachers’ Introductory Guide, Parents’ Guide, Early Years Teacher Manual (4-5 years), Early Primary School Years Teacher Manual (primary grades 1, 2, 3), Late Primary School Years Teacher Manual (primary grades 4, 5, 6), “How to say NO” booklet, 6 posters and 16 animal cards, Music and set of mindfulness activities, 2 pattern to make the puppets (Aristea & Hercules)
