The Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives at the University of Victoria and ΚΕΜΕ (the University of Crete Research Center for the Humanities, the Social and Education Sciences, UCRC) are co-organizing the conference "Creating Commons in an Era of Precarity: A Multi/Trans-Disciplinary Conference on Migration and Asia" on  8-11 June 2021.

The conference is endorsed by United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD).

The keynote lecture by Professor Biao Xiang (University of Oxford, Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology) on "Reproduction-driven labour migration from China" is open to the public on Tuesday 8 June (Victoria 10:00am - 11:30am Crete 8:00pm - 9:30pm).
